this notice.
1. The short version
Send relevant business-to-business messages to people who might plausibly want them, identify yourself honestly, and stop when someone asks. Everything below is detail on those three things.
2. You must
- Send from accounts you own and are authorised to use.
- Use a real, working reply address and an accurate From name.
- Include a valid postal address and a working opt-out in commercial messages.
- Honour every unsubscribe request promptly. The service does this automatically if you leave the compliance features on - do not work around them.
- Keep your bounce rate low. A dirty list damages your reputation and, at volume, the platform's.
3. You must not
- Send to purchased, rented or scraped consumer lists, or to anyone who has opted out.
- Falsify headers, From addresses, or the origin of a message.
- Use misleading subject lines.
- Send unsolicited email to individuals in jurisdictions requiring prior consent (much of the EU/UK, and Canada under CASL) without that consent.
- Send malware, phishing, or content impersonating another person or business.
- Send adult content, illegal goods, or content promoting hate or violence.
- Circumvent sending limits, warm-up, or the suppression list.
- Resell access to the service without a written agreement with us.
4. Cold outreach specifically
Cold business-to-business outreach is lawful in many jurisdictions when it is genuinely relevant, honestly identified and honours opt-outs. It is not lawful everywhere, and the rules for messaging individuals are stricter than for businesses.
Knowing which rules apply to the people on your list is your responsibility. The compliance settings exist so you can meet them; filling them in truthfully is on you.
5. Enforcement
We investigate abuse complaints. Depending on severity we may warn you, pause your campaigns, suspend sending, or terminate the account.
Sending that endangers shared infrastructure may be stopped immediately and explained afterwards.
